The NYX beamline has the scientific objective of providing a state-of-the-art source for a wide spectrum of crystallographic experiments and a cutting-edge source for optimized anomalous diffraction experiments. While moving to incorporate microbeams, we also want to preserve the versatility of optimized anomalous scattering experiments across a broad spectrum of atomic resonances from different elements. In order to carry out these experiments and research, we capitalize on the intrinsic brightness of NSLS-II to optimize anomalous signals by improving energy resolution. NYX has an energy range from 7-14 keV with a 25 μm FWHM spot size. The sample mounting robot is an ISARA2 from Irelec which provides a typical sample exchange time near 15 seconds. The robot will only accept UniPuck V1 pucks with either SPINE or ALS bases. We recommend SPINE bases to conform to other NSLS-II beamline requirements. The detector at NYX is an Eiger2 9M XE. Data can be transferred via Globus. Data collection can be done in-person or remotely through NX. The data collection software is LSDC which is used at the other NSLS-II beamlines.
