Its mission is to improve human health and well-being through basic research, education, and development ventures that transform discoveries into cures. Unlike most universities and academic medical centers, the MDI Biological Laboratory was established with the belief that removing obstacles to biomedical discovery and development leads to faster, bolder discoveries and solutions. The Institution’s flat organizational structure, small size, and forward-thinking leadership allow it to respond quickly and efficiently to new opportunities and challenges. In 2013, the MDI Biological Laboratory was recognized by the National Institutes of Health as a Center of Biomedical Research Excellence (COBRE) for its innovative research program in regenerative and aging biology and medicine. The Institution’s expert, interdisciplinary faculty utilizes multiple genetically tractable model organisms and diverse cell systems to define mechanisms of tissue repair and regeneration and characterize changes that occur in cells and tissues with disease and aging. This approach speeds the discovery process, greatly reduces research costs, and provides opportunities for identification of new drugs for improving human health. Through a variety of ventures, discoveries are being transformed into new therapeutics that activate and enhance innate tissue repair and regenerative processes and slow or reverse degenerative changes that occur as humans age. The MDI Biological Laboratory is also a world-class science education institution where students at all levels learn problem-solving and communication skills, and where out-of-the-box thinking, entrepreneurship, and partnership-building are encouraged. The Institution’s goals are to make better doctors, inspire scientists, develop a 21st-century science and technology workforce, and bring diverse stakeholders together to collaborate on solving human and environmental sustainability problems.

If your CRO isn’t showing up on the map, then please be sure your company profile is up to date in Scientist.com’s Backoffice. After logging in, click the Your Company button in the navigation at the top, and then select the Locations tab.
Information about my organization is incorrect, how do I fix it?
Head over to backoffice.scientist.com to update your supplier profile and information. It may take up to two business days for the updates to be reflected on the map.
