With the significant experience gained from 2015 as IIMCB Structural Biology Center, we are able to support both the biotech and pharmaceutical industry in structure-based drug design (SBDD) projects with the emphasis on early and preclinical stages of drug discovery process. We offer a flexible approach to the most advanced research which comprises: 1. Preparation of expression constructs and recombinant protein production; 2. X-ray crystallography of protein or protein-ligand complexes including unique expertise in the crystallization of protein-nucleic acid complexes; 3. Single-particle cryo-electron microscopy (cryo-EM) with the goal of determining high-resolution structures of macromolecules with a molecular weight ≥100 kDa; 4. Coupled cryo-EM/X-ray crystallography approach which links and integrates the favorable features of both methods; EXPERIENCE Over the years of supporting lead optimization process in drug discovery, we have established a well-grounded position in the field of structure-based drug design (SBDD) projects. In the course of cooperation with leading pharmaceutical companies from Europe (e.g., UbiQ Bio, Selvita, Celon Pharma, OncoArendi Therapeutics, Adamed) and from the United States (Ionis Pharmaceuticals), our services have supported drug discovery efforts for such diseases as cancer, asthma, and depression. Leaderna solved a crystal structure of OncoArendi’s OATD-01 compound with a target protein. The compound is undergoing clinical trials and in the case of positive results will be the first sarcoidosis drug on the market, with a new mechanism of action (first in class). Over time of extensive collaboration with Ionis Pharmaceuticals, a world leader in RNA-targeted therapeutics, we expanded our expertise in structure determination of nucleic acid-based drugs with proteins.
