The analysis includes measuring soluble production of the bioanalyte, how it is expressed at the gene level, and the potential functionality of the marker. We have measured analytes on tissue/cellular extracts, serum/plasma, brochoalveolar lavage fluid, cerebrospinal fluid, entrometrial fluid, tears, amniotic fluid, and cell culture supernatants. The source of sample evaluated has come from mice, rats, rabbits, humans, and monkeys. Our Core is unique in that it is investigator friendly, working with clients on sample management, volume, appropriate process, and ultimately the best technical methods that optimizes the potential for success. We also have extensive experience in the development of assays not commercially available in any of the formats listed on the Core Supplies page. The interactions between the Core and the investigators is intially through the Core Director who has been doing these types of studies for several years and is diplomat certified by the American Board of Medical Laboratory Immunologists. This certification provides the infastructure for clinical translation with CLIA approved methodologies ans statistical analysis. Further, with our extensive volume we provide for our investigators the option to purchase reagents through our Core at a significant discount relative to buying from the company directly. Finally, we seek to offer these services for anaylsis of samples, but also to provide instruction of basic immunological and cellular techniques associated with these procedures and sample procurement.
