750 W. Virginia St. P.O. Box 341880, Milwaukee, Wisconsin 53234Aurora Health Care is an integrated, not-for-profit, and all-for-people health care provider serving communities throughout eastern Wisconsin and northern Illinois. Our approach keeps people in our minds and at the heart of everything we do. We treat each person as a person, not as a patient, an illness or an appointment. Aurora got its start in 1984 when two established Milwaukee hospitals, St. Luke's Medical Center and Good Samaritan Medical Center, came together to form Aurora Health Care. Over the years, our organization grew, allowing us to help more people and communities. Today we serve communities throughout eastern Wisconsin and northern Illinois, with 15 hospitals, more than 150 clinics and 70 pharmacies in 30 communities. We strive to offer services that are close to home, and help make the whole community healthier.
750 West Virginia Street Milwaukee, WI, 53204 United StatesThe Open-Access Robotic Biorepository and Informatics Technology (ORBIT) resource at Aurora Health Care is a library of genetically diverse patient specimens available to researchers for the purpose of testing new technologies. The samples provide de-identified health information on individual patients (e.g., age, race, weight, gender, presence of chronic diseases, tobacco use, etc.) that researchers may use in a variety of studies. ORBIT works together with the Research Analytics team to gather and provide de-identified clinical information for clinical trial recruitment and development of Investigator Initiated Research studies. By advancing the science of pharmacogenomics, ORBIT and other biobanks around the globe enable scientists to share information for research and scientific discovery. Within the local community, knowledge gained from this project will continue advancing Aurora Health Care’s ability to provide care that meets the specific needs of each patient.
8000 Excelsior Drive Suite 400 Madison, WI, 53717 United StatesAIQ Solutions is a commercial-stage imaging biomarker company with offices in Madison, Wisconsin, and Perth, Australia. AIQ's software technologies analyze medical scans from all imaging modalities and radiotracers to support more efficient go/no-go decisions and optimize clinical trial patient selection. AIQ Score, a single patient-level metric that uses full patient lesion analytics, allows early prediction of optimal vs suboptimal responders to therapy. AIQ Solutions was born out of the University of Wisconsin Translational Imaging Research Program. The founders, Robert Jeraj, Ph.D.; Glenn Liu, MD; George Wilding, MD; and Dona Alberti, BSN, RN, worked together for over ten years at the University of Wisconsin Carbone Cancer Center with decades of combined experience in drug development, clinical trials, and translational imaging research. In January 2015, AIQ was incorporated. The patents protecting AIQ's innovations were issued in October 2015 and March 2017. In April 2017, AIQ signed an exclusive license agreement with the Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation covering both patents. In 2021, AIQ established its first oversea office in Perth, Australia. AIQ’s technology has been cleared for clinical use under 510(k) as a medical device class II and completed Medical Device Single Audit Program (MDSAP) certification and ISO – 13485:2016 audits.

Center for Human Genetics Marshfield Clinic Research Foundation 1000 North Oak Avenue – MLR Marshfield, WI 54449Welcome to the population-based PMRP bio-bank, a large collection of biological samples and health information for use in biological research. Genetic information from our 20,000 participants forms a database enabling scientists to study which genes cause disease, which genes predict reactions to drugs, and how environment and genes work together to cause disease. The goal of this project is to learn how to apply genetic science to human health. This knowledge will help researchers develop new medications and diagnostic tests, and will enable physicians to prescribe medications that work best for a particular person. The concept of tailoring healthcare to an individual’s precise genetic profile is known as “Personalized Medicine.”

330 N ORCHARD STREET / MADISON, WISCONSIN 53715Improve human health by conducting and translating innovative, interdisciplinary biomedical research in partnership with the University of Wisconsin-Madison and others, by leveraging our collective strengths in research and education. The Morgridge Institute for Research grew from the remarkable vision of UW-Madison alumni John and Tashia Morgridge. The Morgridges recognized an independent research institute would provide UW-Madison with innovative new ways to conduct biomedical research and educate the community. Drawing inspiration from Stanford’s revolutionary Bio-X Program, which brings together researchers from diverse backgrounds, John believed a similar initiative at Wisconsin would spark new collaborations, create new paths of inquiry in biomedical research, and help UW–Madison stay competitive. Tashia also envisioned the building fostering unique educational opportunities for the community, from K-12 students to lifelong learners.

4675 Signature Drive Middleton, WI, 53562 United StatesSTABLEBODY TECHNOLOGIES LLC (“SBT”) is a protein engineering and protein reagent development company based in Madison, Wisconsin and founded in 2009. Protein engineering involves the re-design and modification of proteins to make the proteins work better in particular applications. SBT has developed trade secret methods utilizing proprietary algorithms and databases, coupled with machine learning methods to more efficiently re-design and modify proteins for research, diagnostic, and therapeutic applications. SBT is involved in the product manufacturing of the protein CD45, which is one of the most highly used products in the BioMedical world of proteins used. SBT designs proteins that will perform better and be more thermally stable with similar or increased affinity. An example of this is its contract success with The United States Defense Department in which SBT successfully converted the storage requirements for bio-terror antidote reagents eliminating freezer storage requirements and allowing for room temperature or outdoor ambient storage temperatures. (e.g., increased thermal stability from 131F to 171F). Another dynamic market for SBT’s thermal stability and affinity data engineering is a client who would then be able to ship their manufactured product without refrigeration during shipping. (A 25 μg sample can be provided to qualifying researchers.)

2880 North 112th Street Wauwatosa, WI, 53222 United StatesAmerican Pasteurization Company (APC) is the first company in the United States to offer High Pressure Processing (HPP) on a commercial tolling basis to the food manufacturing industry. HPP kills bacteria that can cause spoilage and food-borne illness, and greatly extends shelf life. Applying HPP to foods and beverages - rather than heat pasteurization - results in products with a fresher taste and better appearance, texture and nutrition. HPP pasteurizes foods and beverages by uniformly applying extreme hydrostatic pressure around and throughout a food product, deactivating the cellular activities of foodborne pathogens and other spoilage organisms.

331 W. Kindt St. Juneau WI 53039 USAFounded in 1980 by Irish biochemist and entrepreneur Dr. Pearse Lyons, Alltech is a leading global biotechnology company whose mission is to improve the health and performance of people, animals and plants through natural nutrition and scientific innovation. We pursue this mission guided by what we call the ACE principle, our promise that in doing business we have a positive impact on the Animal, the Consumer and the Environment. Animal Health Our core business improves animal health and performance by adding nutritional value to feed, naturally, through Alltech’s innovative use of yeast fermentation, enzyme technology, algae and nutrigenomics, which studies the impact of nutrition at the genetic level. Our technologies and support programs enable farmers to realize greater efficiency, profitability and sustainability on their farms. Alltech Crop Science Our Alltech Crop Science division complements our animal nutrition business by focusing on improving the health of crops. Our technologies enable us to improve the productivity of the field, in terms of yield quality and quantity, and to enhance nutrition beginning with the soil and the seed. Human Health We believe scientific innovation in animal and crop sciences is part of a much more important story, that of human health. Healthier animals and crops, nurtured naturally through Alltech’s nutritional solutions, affect human well-being. For example, fruits, vegetables and animal proteins have become less nutrient-rich in the past half-century. From fish to oranges, you need to eat more today to get the same nutritional value. Our work within animal and crop sciences is restoring value and also exploring ways to naturally enrich foods through improving the animal diet or crop produced. For example, laying hens fed a diet rich in Alltech’s algae produce eggs enriched with DHA omega-3, an essential nutrient for human cognitive development and health at all ages.

465 Science Drive Madison, WI 53711Arrowhead Pharmaceuticals develops medicines that treat intractable diseases by silencing the genes that cause them. Using a broad portfolio of RNA chemistries and efficient modes of delivery, Arrowhead therapies trigger the RNA interference mechanism to induce rapid, deep and durable knockdown of target genes. RNA interference, or RNAi, is a mechanism present in living cells that inhibits the expression of a specific gene, thereby affecting the production of a specific protein. Arrowhead’s RNAi-based therapeutics leverage this natural pathway of gene silencing.
