2500 California Plaza Omaha, NE 68178The Creighton University Integrated Biomedical Imaging core facility features a multi-photon confocal microscope that allows high resolution imaging of labeled cells and tissues in three dimensions and time series. The facility, available to investigators on a fee-for-use-time basis, is supported by the Creighton University School of Medicine, the Nebraska NIH-INBRE program, and by user fees. The facility, located in Criss II room 405, has been instrumental in the creation of forums for scientific interaction among Nebraska scientists, including an annual symposium on imaging methods. The instruments and imaging techniques now available to IBIF users include the following: Confocal imaging of fluorescent molecular labels in tissues and cells, using a Leica TCS SP8, with five laser lines and high numerical aperture objectives, Multi-photon confocal imaging using the Leica TCS SP8 confocal microscope, Spectra Physics Mai Tai DeepSee near-infrared tunable laser and Leica HyD advanced detectors, Long-working distance multi-photon optimized objectives for deep tissue imaging, e.g. in brain, Adjustable height fixed stage for live animal studies, Imaging of molecular dynamic processes in living cells, Imaging of transmembrane currents, Fluorescence Resonance Energy Transfer (FRET), a method of quantifying intermolecular associations, FLIM, which gives information about the excited state of molecules, Metabolic imaging, which provides a direct reading of energy utilization in living cells, TIRF imaging, using an Olympus TIRF system on an inverted Olympus microscope, which enables very low background visualization of membrane-bound molecules, and Single molecule imaging, using a very-high quantum efficiency EM-CCD camera (Andor DU-897E) on an Olympus inverted fluorescence microscope.

2500 California Plaza Omaha, NE 68178This research core facility provides both services and instrumentation for all investigators at Creighton University who utilize molecular biology techniques in their research. The services provided include DNA sequencing and oligonucleotide synthesis. Request forms with prices for these services are available from this web site (see below). In addition, faculty, technicians and graduate students have access to some of the most precise technology and equipment available for their individual use on a sign up basis. This equipment includes: high speed and ultra-centrifuges, real-time thermocycler, autoradiographic film processor, UV/visible gel documentation system and spectrophotometers. These Molecular Facilities are located in room 382, Criss III.
2500 California Plaza Omaha, NE 68178The Flow Cytometry Core Facility is based in the Department of Medical Microbiology and Immunology, and is located in room 383 of Criss III. The core provides equipment and services to identify, quantify, analyze, and isolate cells in complex mixtures (like blood, for example). The facility is equipped with two state-of-the-art flow cytometers: a Yeti for up to 15-color analysis and High Throughput Screening, and a FACSAria for multicolor analysis and high speed sorting. In addition to the computers that run these 2 instruments, the facility has a workstation setup as a data server and data analysis station for our users. All computers in the facility are connected to the Creighton network and have both black & white and color laser printers. All data generated in the facility is routinely backed up and saved permanently. Facility users outside of Creighton can have direct access to their data using a departmental server on which their data can be loaded for the user to download and analyze in their own laboratory. This makes data analysis especially easy for off campus users. Along with the 2 flow cytometers, the facility also has a Luminex 200 multiplex analyzer which allows users to "simultaneously measure up to 100 analytes in a single microplate well using very small sample volumes." This system has generally used by investigators at Creighton to look at cytokine or protein expression profiling, although it can also be used to look at gene expression and genotyping. The core facility also has other instrumentation available for use by investigators. We have two magnetic cell separation units (a VarioMACS and a QuadMACS) from Miltenyi Biotech which use monoclonal antibodies and magnetic beads to enrich specific cell populations for further purification on the FACSAria, analysis or cell culture. We also have a Coulter counter (Z1), a Nexcelom Cellometer K2 cell counter and a Cytospin cyto-centrifuge that we make available at no cost to anyone on campus for performing cell counts, an IEC Centra 8R refrigerated centrifuge, a Nikon E-400 microscope for light microscopy and a Partec CyScope Plus HP for fluorescence microscopy.

1601 Pioneer Blvd Lincoln, NE 68502Universal Cold Storage was founded in 2001 in Lincoln, Nebraska in a 16,000 square foot facility. Within a year the location was outgrown due to customer demand. A new location with over 300,000 square feet was acquired, refurbished, and online by 2003. In 2008, a conversion of space added 8,000 frozen pallet positions. New construction in 2009 added another 16,000 frozen pallet positions bringing our total to 47,000 chilled or frozen pallet positions totaling over 670,000 square feet making it Nebraska’s largest. In 2010, sensing demand for outsourced High Pressure Processing (HPP) the company founded Universal Pasteurization Company and purchased its first 350L system, at that time the largest made. Operating on its commitment to hassle-free HPP, the Lincoln facility now has five 350 liter HPP systems in place which can process over 3 million pounds of customer product per year. In 2013, the company added a facility in Villa Rica Georgia, just outside of Atlanta. The Villa Rica facility has two 350 liter HPP systems currently with the ability to grow significantly based upon customer demand. It also offers 15,000 square feet of frozen and 5000 square feet of cold storage.

The Contract Research Map is owned and maintained by Scientist.com. It was created to help researchers in the life sciences identify and connect with contract research organizations (CROs) based on geography. Updated nightly, this map features all of the available CROs within our network, so you can order services with a few clicks. Click on a specific country, scroll on the map itself or type into the search bar at the top—there are many ways to find the location and suppliers that you’re looking for. From Argentina to New Zealand, use this map to connect with a CRO near you.
We believe that every researcher across the world should be able to connect with the thousands of global CROs that exist and have the opportunity to work together. Like many industries, the life science supply chain has been disrupted over the last year. But there are many other circumstances such as international customs regulations or sensitive shipping times that create limitations around which countries are feasible to partner with. Sometimes, finding a CRO based in a country that best suits your research needs is imperative. We hope this contract research map allows you to find the right partner in the right place at the right time.
Have questions or feedback? We’d love to help. You can find our FAQs and contact information on the Learn more page.
Interested in connecting with one or more of the contract research organizations listed on this map? By clicking on the company’s name, you will be directed to their supplier profile on the Scientist.com marketplace. Once you set up a marketplace account you can start the ordering process immediately.
