Research Institute in Oncology and Hematology 675 McDermot Ave Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada R3E 0V9The mission of the Manitoba Tumour Bank (MTB) is ""to improve cancer diagnosis, management and treatment through enhanced translation of cancer research."" The Manitoba Tumour Bank has been in operation since 1993 and represents one of the oldest tumour banks in the country. The MTB is an international resource with over 6000 cases (primarily breast cancers and chronic lymphocytic leukemias, but also has early collections of some other leukemias, lung cancers, head and neck cancer, ovarian cancer, prostate cancer and multiple myeloma) and has supported hundreds of research studies of which approximately 60% have been based at the University of Manitoba, 25% elsewhere in Canada, and 15% in the USA and Europe. The MTB receives consent from up to 1000 donors per year to accrue biological samples and associated clinical information from health care centers in Manitoba. The Bank operates with the support of the University of Manitoba, Department of Pathology, Diagnostic Services Manitoba, and CancerCare Manitoba. The operating costs of the MTB are principally supported by CancerCare Manitoba Foundation in partnership with the University of Manitoba and the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) and collection of a nominal fee for service. The Bank has also received critical support from the National Cancer Institute of Canada, the Guardian Angels, the Jean Carter group, the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation and Nygård International Ltd.

207 Administration Bldg. Winnipeg, MB , R3T 2N2 CanadaAs the first university established in western Canada, the University of Manitoba has been at the centre of research in Manitoba for more than a century. From the development of canola and advances in wireless communication, to the prevention of Rh disease of the newborn and breakthrough discoveries concerning the transmission of HIV/AIDS, our researchers have made contributions that have had a global impact. Today, our faculty and students continue to earn international acclaim in fields as diverse as infectious diseases, Canadian history, materials science, civil infrastructure, population and community health, sustainable agriculture and northern research, to name just a few. More than ever before, our researchers are collaborating beyond traditional disciplinary boundaries, sharing their expertise, experience and passion for discovery. The University of Manitoba is the only research-intensive university in the province, and the vast majority of research undertaken in Manitoba takes place on one of our campuses or at our research stations. As the hub for graduate education in the province, we are also the major contributor to the supply of highly qualified personnel that are increasingly in demand by business, industry and government. University of Manitoba scientists, engineers, artists and scholars are finding innovative solutions to many of the challenges facing Canada and the world in the 21st century. With the support of our partners in research, including governments, business and industry, and community organizations, they are discovering new ways to improve our health, increase our understanding of ourselves and our world, advance our technology, strengthen our communities and protect our environment. I encourage you to review our Strategic Research Plan, which describes our current areas of established and emerging research strength, as well as our research vision, goals and actions. I also invite you to visit our Research home page to learn more about our broad range of innovative and exciting research activities, as well as the support services and programs that allow us to continue to bring research to life.

The Contract Research Map is owned and maintained by Scientist.com. It was created to help researchers in the life sciences identify and connect with contract research organizations (CROs) based on geography. Updated nightly, this map features all of the available CROs within our network, so you can order services with a few clicks. Click on a specific country, scroll on the map itself or type into the search bar at the top—there are many ways to find the location and suppliers that you’re looking for. From Argentina to New Zealand, use this map to connect with a CRO near you.
We believe that every researcher across the world should be able to connect with the thousands of global CROs that exist and have the opportunity to work together. Like many industries, the life science supply chain has been disrupted over the last year. But there are many other circumstances such as international customs regulations or sensitive shipping times that create limitations around which countries are feasible to partner with. Sometimes, finding a CRO based in a country that best suits your research needs is imperative. We hope this contract research map allows you to find the right partner in the right place at the right time.
